Overview
Order links from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Perplexity. What Linkwatcher Connect is, who can use it, what the assistant can and cannot do, and how payment works.
Linkwatcher Connect lets the AI assistant you already use act on your Linkwatcher marketplace account. Ask for a quote, place an order, or check on progress in plain English, without opening the dashboard.
It works with any assistant that supports remote MCP connectors: Claude (web, desktop and Claude Code), ChatGPT, Cursor and Perplexity, with more arriving as vendors add connector support.
Who can use it
Linkwatcher Connect is included with:
- Marketplace Pro ($5/month)
- every paid monitoring plan (Freelancer and up, which bundle Pro for the plan owner)
- Marketplace Enterprise
Free accounts see a locked card under Marketplace Settings > API & AI Assistants with a link to Pro.
What the assistant can do
| Ask it to | Tool it uses |
|---|---|
| Find sites by niche, DR, traffic, language, price or proven delivery | search_catalog, list_categories, get_domain |
| Quote an exact price (platform fee, plan waivers, wallet check, word-count range) | quote_order |
| Place a guest post or link insertion paid from your wallet | place_order |
| List orders, see what needs your attention, read the timeline | list_orders, get_order |
| Approve delivered work, ask for a revision, answer a publisher's question | approve_order, request_revision, answer_clarification |
| Check your balance and connection limits | get_balance, get_account |
| List your monitoring projects | list_projects |
| Add backlinks to monitoring (within your plan limits) | add_links_to_monitoring |
| See which backlinks are live, missing or not indexed | get_link_health |
| Track keywords and read current Google positions | add_keywords, get_keyword_ranks |
| Check indexer credits and submit URLs to the quick indexer | get_indexer_credits, submit_links_to_indexer |
The assistant always quotes first and only places an order after you confirm the exact total. Every order it places carries a unique reference, so a retried request can never create a duplicate.
Everything is referred to the way you know it: sites by domain name, sellers by publisher name (with an offer number when a domain has several publishers), orders by their MP- order number. Internal database ids never appear in the chat or in the assistant's permission prompts.
What it cannot do
Coupons, publisher content writing, refund requests, buyer requests, reviews and wallet top-ups stay in the dashboard. If your wallet is short, the assistant tells you the exact shortfall and gives you the top-up link; money is never added from inside a chat.
How payment works
Orders are paid from your prepaid Linkwatcher wallet, exactly like orders placed in the dashboard: base price plus the platform fee (max(2.5%, $2.50), waived for Agency and Enterprise plan owners). Each connected assistant has its own per-order limit and 24-hour spend cap, set when you approve the connection and editable at any time under Marketplace Settings. See Payments and balance.
Security in one paragraph
The assistant never sees your password. Connecting uses OAuth: you sign in on Linkwatcher, approve what the assistant may do, and it receives a short-lived token for your account only. You can disconnect it at any moment from Marketplace Settings, which revokes its access immediately. Details in Setup.
